功能	Nuclear hormone receptor. Transcription factor that mediates the action of vitamin D3 by controlling the expression of hormone sensitive genes. Regulates transcription of hormone sensitive genes via its association with the WINAC complex, a chromatin-remodeling complex. Recruited to promoters via its interaction with the WINAC complex subunit BAZ1B/WSTF, which mediates the interaction with acetylated histones, an essential step for VDR-promoter association. Plays a central role in calcium homeostasis.
總結(jié)	This gene encodes the nuclear hormone receptor for vitaminD3. This receptor also functions as a receptor for the secondarybile acid lithocholic acid. The receptor belongs to the family oftrans-acting transcriptional regulatory factors and shows sequencesimilarity to the steroid and thyroid hormone receptors. Downstreamtargets of this nuclear hormone receptor are principally involvedin mineral metabolism though the receptor regulates a variety ofother metabolic pathways, such as those involved in the immuneresponse and cancer. Mutations in this gene are associated withtype II vitamin D-resistant rickets. A single nucleotidepolymorphism in the initiation codon results in an alternatetranslation start site three codons downstream. Alternativesplicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the sameprotein.

A goat anti-rabbit IgG H&L(HRP) at 1:10000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody. VDR Antibody (Center) (Cat. APR04015G) flow cytometric analysis of Hela cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated donkey-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.
