功能	Interacts strongly with CDK6, weakly with CDK4. Inhibits cell growth and proliferation with a correlated dependence on endogenous retinoblastoma protein RB.
總結(jié)	The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the INK4family of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors. This protein has beenshown to interact with CDK4 or CDK6, and prevent the activation ofthe CDK kinases, thus function as a cell growth regulator thatcontrols cell cycle G1 progression. Ectopic expression of this genewas shown to suppress the growth of human cells in a manner thatappears to correlate with the presence of a wild-type RB1 function.Studies in the knockout mice suggested the roles of this gene inregulating spermatogenesis, as well as in suppressingtumorigenesis. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants ofthis gene, which encode an identical protein, have been reported.

圖像	Anti-CDKN2C Antibody (C-term) at 1:2000 dilution + NIH/3T3 whole cell lysate Lysates/proteins at 20 μg per lane. Secondary Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated at 1/10000 dilution. Predicted band size : 18 kDa Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST. Western blot analysis of CDKN2C (arrow) using rabbit polyclonal CDKN2C Antibody (C-term) (Cat. APR03501G). 293 cell lysates (2 ug/lane) either nontransfected (Lane 1) or transiently transfected (Lane 2) with the CDKN2C gene. CDKN2C Antibody (C-term) (Cat. APR03501G) immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human skeletal muscle followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the CDKN2C Antibody (C-term) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
