功能	Integrin alpha-5/beta-1 is a receptor for fibronectin and fibrinogen. It recognizes the sequence R-G-D in its ligands. In case of HIV-1 infection, the interaction with extracellular viral Tat protein seems to enhance angiogenesis in Kaposi's sarcoma lesions.
總結(jié)	The product of this gene belongs to the integrin alphachain family. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membraneproteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This geneencodes the integrin alpha 5 chain. Alpha chain 5 undergoespost-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain to yielddisulfide-linked light and heavy chains that join with beta 1 toform a fibronectin receptor. In addition to adhesion, integrins areknown to participate in cell-surface mediated signalling. [providedby RefSeq].

APR03661G)immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human placenta tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining.This data demonstrates the use of ITGA5 Antibody (Center) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated. ITGA5 Antibody (Center) (Cat. APR03661G) western blot analysis in human uterine tumor and mouse bladder tissue lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the ITGA5 antibody detected the ITGA5 protein (arrow).
