功能	Plays a major role in tight junction-specific obliteration of the intercellular space, through calcium- independent cell-adhesion activity.
總結	This gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudinsare integral membrane proteins and components of tight junctionstrands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier toprevent solutes and water from passing freely through theparacellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets,and also play critical roles in maintaining cell polarity andsignal transductions. This gene is intronless and overlaps the 3'UTR of the WWC2 gene (GeneID: 80014) on the opposite strand.
儲存條件	Store at +4°C short term. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
