功能	Destroys superoxide anion radicals which are normally produced within the cells and which are toxic to biological systems.
總結(jié)	This gene is a member of the iron/manganese superoxide dismutase family. It encodes a mitochondrial protein that forms a homotetramer and binds one manganese ion per subunit. This protein binds to the superoxide byproducts of oxidative phosphorylation and converts them to hydrogen peroxide and diatomic oxygen. Mutations in this gene have been associated with idiopathic cardiomyopathy (IDC), premature aging, sporadic motor neuron disease, and cancer. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
形式	Purified monoclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein G column, followed by dialysis against PBS.
儲(chǔ)存條件	Store at +4°C short term. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma tissue reacted with SOD2 Monoclonal Antibody (Cat. APR10198G), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. Western blot analysis of anti-SOD2 Monoclonal Antibody (Cat. APR10198G) by SOD2-GST fusion protein (GST MW=26 kD. SOD2-GST fusion protein (arrow) was detected using the purified Mab. (1:2000)
